Co-author of Quieting the Madness: Entertainment Media’s Shift into More Accurate Depictions of Mental Illness—Sept. 2018-present

  • Authored a chapter comparing the portrayal of depression in Pride and Prejudice (2005) to antidepressant commercials from the early 2000s.

This forthcoming book offers a scholarly perspective on the more realistic ways film and television are beginning to portray mental illness. It’s a great opportunity to be a part of a book individuals with PhDs are also contributing to.

Copy Intern for LearnVest, New York, NY—June 2018 – Aug. 2018

  • Edited copy for FAQs, notifications, and documentation for internal apps.
  • Researched and pitched ideas for naming native apps, company intranet, and email newsletter that goes out to 10,000 people.
  • Accounted for all copy fields in end-to-end user flows, including multiple use cases.
  • Designed user testing for research and documented user reactions on prototypes for UX research.

Working for LearnVest was my first opportunity to work on a professional team of copywriters and with stakeholders from other teams. It taught me how to make combine creativity with functionality.
